Why does this little camera cost $8,000 ????????

I don't get why anyone would pay this much for a camera that small that is all manual ?.....

It is a specialty camera for taking panoramic photographs using a highend Wide Angle 90mm f/5.6 Super Angulon XL Lens. This lens alone costs nearly $4,000 (I have one for my Sinar 4x5 view camera)

If you are a professional landscape photographer, this is what it costs to get into the game.

Of course it is manual ... pros shoot mostly in the manual mode, especially when it comes to medium format cameras and larger.

It's the optics, they are fabulous.

Yeah link doesn't work for me either. Camera's usually cost alot of money depending on the optical zoom and the lense.

Any highly specialized photographic equipment will command a premium price. Those photographers who need this type of equipment for their photography will happily pay it.

Note to Steve P: I agree with your wally world statement but - isn't a brain required for someone to be brainwashed?

I do not know. But I would not buy it. What's the point?? Like my phrase of the year, "You can always find the almost same thing in walmart, for alot of bucks cheaper." AND IT'S TRUE!
