Firewire IEEE 1394 PCMCIA, How do I install it?? |
I just got this piece of equipment i assumed would be rather simple to put together with my Dell Inspiron E1505... The computer detects the card, its not all the way in the way i would imagine it should fit, the cord and camera are connected-- but nothing is detected after that. It's supposed to go in all the way. If it doesn't maybe it's upside down or not inserted correctly. I mean the card part inserts all the way but the rest of it with the firewire connector port just dangles outside the laptop. First remove the slot protector and Just insert the ad-on card in PCMCIA Slot. You will find it in the side of the laptop. If your not sure which is that slot call Dell customer care. Check the IEEE port in your camera, there are more than one wire types, 4-pins and 6- pins...etc. And you have to turn on the camera after connecting the IEEE wire correctly between the camera and the PC ,a message will show that an IEEE wire is connected to the PC. |
