Dell xps m1530 gaming/overall?

hey,

I know a little bit about computers, not too much, and i was wondering if the laptop i ordered would be able to play games, and run fast. I almost forgot, for online games, like wow or runescape, will the wireless be able to keep up or do i need to use the ethernet? Well here are the specs:

XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.4GHz/800MHzFSB, 3M L2 Cache)
Tuxedo Black Casing XPS M1530

o yeah, is vista good, i have heard alot of arguments over this

Wireless G won;t be a bottleneck unless your connection speed frequently goes over 5MB/s.

That laptop should be fine for the games you mentioned, but not for Crysis or similar.

That 15.4" is 1920x1200 resolution, even WoW may struggle in a large raid with 50 players on screen at that res.
You really need a high-end desktop graphics card to push that many pixels in any reletivly new 3D engine.
I play in that res with a Quad core and a 1GB DDR4 graphics card, and not every game will run full at 19x12 for me.

If it has a Hard drive upgrade option get it, 7,200rpm will improve everything the pc does.

Edit:
Vista is excellent if you have the hardware to run it.
I really can't recommend anyone with a laptop to run Vista unless it has serious hardware, your laptop would be just enough
By just enough I don't mean the grossly inaccurate min spec MS tell you that you need
I mean just enough to enjoy Vista without it crippling your performance in games and other apps.

Ignore DX10 for now as the hardware support is there but has not yet advanced to the point of playable frame rates, at least not in any mobile graphics chip anyway.

The reason it has such poor reputation is that even Celeron cpus with on-board Intel graphics and chips and 1GB RAM are pre-loaded with Vista, and simply can't cope with aero.
It is more stable and runs almost everything XP ran now that the SP1 update has arrived.

I'd say go for it as your hardware is quite good.
I enable the Windows Classic Theme instead of Vistas more childish bubbly look, and disable the side bar, that drops RAM usage by about 50%
