What's a good program to convert JPEG files to a smaller size? |
I have a really good digital camera so I've taken a bunch of high resolution pictures that are six megabytes each. I want to drastically reduce the resolution so they're less than a hundred kilobytes each. That way I can email them to people who still have dialup internet accss. I don't want to manually do each picture at a time. I want to batch convert a whole bunch of files without babysitting the program. I have a fast computer and plenty of hard drive space so resources are no problem for me. It would be nice if it was freeware or shareware. Please tell me what software you like and post to link to where I can read about it. A download link (legal of course) would be nice too. Search for software called IrfanView. It will be a free download and works great. zip it! Acdsee. Use microsoft office picture manager. you can edit , resize or crop jpeg or any type images from that. www.irfanview.com Try downloading Picasa from Google. It's free. (Will they let me post this here? :) ) I use Adobe photodeluxe great program get a free bulk image optimizer. optimizing means to remove unused colors to reduce the file size |
