Are my Pics lost for good?

i have an old hp620 digital camera and i think my memory card is corrupt. i went to put the pics on my computer and it said i had no data on my card. i had 58 pics on that card, i didnt delete a thing. i was curious and took more pics. i can only fit 12 pics w/o my lcd saying the card is full. i have a 64mb sandisk card for it. i kno my images HAVE to still be there. i cant find any free software to recover them and i dont even know if i can get my images back. i had pictures from a vacation i was excited to get on my computer. what sucks is that my computer is a windows 98...unless im at my fathers house, i can use a windows XP. If anybody has any advice whatsoever, it would be very helpful to me. i also had a couple pics from when my brother came to see me and i havnt seen him in 3 years. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

does it still show the pics on your camera when the memory card is in it? if it does then oyour computer might be messed up.

Sounds like the pics got corrupted, you probably can't get them back

I have heard that there are several brands of recovery software will be able to retrieve them - two of my friends had to do that - but as you say, it isn't free.

You just have to ask how much those pictures are worth. Please also make sure that you back up all your other pictures to another location (external hard drive, CDR, etc) because it would be even worse to loose all the ones on your computer.
