Loading pictures from old diskettes to CD/DVD? |
Okay, I have hundreds of diskettes with pictures on them, back from my old Sony Mavica digital camera. I want to toss the diskettes, and finally learn to put them all out on DVD's, (I presume, please inform me if should be done differently), so that I can categorize them, and sort for photo album creation. I'm using Corel Photo Album as the software, but I've accidently purchased Music song CD's and haven't a clue what CD's or DVD's what you call them to use. Please help. I can't exchange the CD's, so I'm stuck with the incorrect ones that I bought, they don't work for pictures. This is a DIY project which will take me quite a few weekends, and I'm honestly clueless how to get it all together. Thanks! thanks thus far, I have 10 disks, (packaged) Memorex DVD+R, 8X4.7 GB, 120 video... when I tried to load pictures on it, would load... . Just more details for you! Hi there, all you need is a cd (r) or cd(rw) disc for this what you do is put in ur diskettes with pictures on in the drive then right hit on the drive hit in explorer. then creat a new folder on desktop right hit on desktop hit on new in the muenu that pop up hit on new folder . then right hit on the new folder hit on explorer then go back to the open . diskette window at the top hit on edit - select all then at the top again hit on edit - copy . then go to the new open folder window right hit in side it hit on paste then the pictures will copy from the diskette to the new folder do that with all your diskettes frist when you have . all them doen what you do then is place a cd(r) or cd(rw ) in the cd/dvd/rw drive when the cd is ready and the light on the drive has stop flashing. right hit on the drive with the cd(r) or cd(rw) disc in. and hit on explorer The CD's you have are probably O.K. for storing data. There is no difference in CD's made for songs or data. The package should read CD-R or CD-RW. The RW suffix means you can delete files and add more. With a CD-R you just write one time. A DVD disc will hold 4.7 Gbytes of data, but you need a different drive to "burn" a DVD. The drives which came with your computer will "burn"CD's. Your pictures should be saved on the CD as .jpg files for general use. |
