How do I transfer a pic. from my phone to my computer?

It uses the same USB plug as my digital camera, and my computer recognizes the phone but thats as far as I can get. Is ther some software I should download? The phone didnt come with any, I double checked.

You need to get the software cd of your phone model too So check with your local vendor of the phone and ask him to provide you with a cd of the phone software. Load it and then you will be able to use it. This prob happens with some of the nokia models too like 6610/6610i

Yes, every phone which is computer accessable needs to be run through some program for accessability. It can be said that all the hardware pluged in needs some software / drivers to run.

There can be two situation :

One if the compu. is having XP installed - then it will detect your hardware and ask for location for installation of software - but if software is available in XP then it will run automatically - if not then you need to put the CD inside the CD drive and run it.

Second situation is that the wire you are using is not able to transmit the data from mobile - although the wire nib fits the mobile but they are all not the same. You need to have wire that transfers the data from mobile to Compu.

Both these is costly - I suggest the following

send an SMS with attachment (of photo) from mobile to your email account and then down load the same from email to computer.

Also there is a choice to plug in the blue tooth detector and then transmit the image from mobile bluetooth connectivity to computer.
