How to get the laptop to read an SD card? |
i have a compaq M 2000 laptop. i already installed the software for reading mmc,sd cards etc. but when i insert a Sandisk SD card into the slot, the laptop freezes and as soon as i take the card out , it starts functioning again. so what's the problem and how should i get the laptop to read the card? the SD card was provided with a digital camera? is a softwsre update the solution? If it comes with the ports for memory cards you shouldnt even have to install software. windows can just open the card in mycomputer I had that happen to me a while ago, I think I updated the drivers or software and it worked. you do not have enought memory to operate the sandisk card. A software update might be the solution, but what you're describing sounds like a bad SD card. Are you sure it still works in the camera? If so, connect the camera to your laptop with a USB cable and see if you can connect to the drive that way. Take off the fotos and format the card in your camera. Then see if you can read it in your laptop. |
