Deleting photos from Mac ibook - Help !!?

I have loaded holiday photos from my digital camera to my Mac ibook. The camera I am using is a sony cybershot DSC-P10. I want to permanently delete some of the photos from the Mac. The Mac ibook was bought in 2003. The software I'm using to open the pics is iphoto. There seems to be no clear instructions. How do I do it? Please help me - they're not the best pics and I just want to keep the nicer ones.

I don't have my Mac in front of me right now (at work) but you should be able to click on a photo and highlight it then Apple + backspace ( <--- key) to send it to the bin. Then empty the trash as usual.

In fact, try Shift click on all of the photos you want to delete and do the Apple + Backspace thang.

just drag the picture from ibook to the recycle bin...

right click then put delete
