How can I transform MPEGs into video I can watch on a DVD Player?

I have several video clips I have taken with my digital camera and I would like to burn them into viewable DVDs. What software/hardware do I need?

or if your looking for a really simple program get winavi it will convert almost any format to dvd but will not make a menu system for u.
