It's for my review for tomorrow I really need to study it. Can you answer these ten for me, thanks.

1. When you request your mails, which e-mail system(s) always download and store your mails on your computer?

[A. POP ] IMAP and web-based both keep mail on the server.

B. IMAP
C. Web-based
D. All of above

2. Most computers store data in a(n) ____ format as a series of 1s and 0s.

A. Analog
[B. Digital] -- Digital means things that are discreet (as far as I know anyway)... black and white things like 1 and 0. Analog means things like a sound wave that don't have discrete, definite values. (Someone may want to correct me here.)
C. Logical
D. Executable

3. Hard disk and tape storage technologies can be classified as ____ storage.

A. Optical
B. Digital
C. Analog
[D. Magnetic] -- These devices work by manipulating the media using magnetics. This is worth reading on if you are kind of interested in it.

4. ____ is copyrighted software marketed under a "try before you buy" policy.

[A. Shareware] Blech.
B. Freeware
C. Open source software
D. Public domain software

5. With many Internet connection methods, the downstream transmission rate is _________________________ the upstream transmission rate.

A. always slower than
B. equal to
C. sometimes slower than
[D. faster than] -- This only takes common sense to figure out. You do a lot more downloading than uploading (if you are a home user), so ISPs optimize things this way.

6. Most wireless LANs transport data as _______________.

A. infrared light
[B. radio frequency signals] -- Well it's clearly not A. I'm pretty sure its not microwaves (2.4 GHZ doesn't qualify as microwav right?).
C. microwaves
D. none of the above

7. A USB flash drive and a memory card in a digital camera are examples of __________.

A. optical storage
B. magnetic storage
[C. solid state storage] -- I do not know enough about how these devices work to explain why this is what they are called.
D. backup storage

8. In C:\My Music\Reggae\Marley One Love.mp3, which of the following represents a folder?

A. My Music
B. Reggae
C. C
[D. Both a and b] -- C: is the drive (A:, B:, C:, D:...) are all drives. Marley One Love.mp3 is the file.

E. Marley One love.mp3

9. A(n) ____________ converts one instruction at a time while the program is running.

A. compiler
[B. interpreter] -- An interpreter interprets a script -- i.e. translates it from pseudo-english instructions into machine language on the fly. A compiler turns human readable code into machine language once, and the resulting output is run over and over again (the conversion happens once before the program is ever ran).
C. script
D. program

10. A(n) _____ file contains the programs or instructions that tell a computer how to perform

A. Data
[B. Executable] -- This is a poorly worded question. Executable files contain instructions for the computer (sort of).
C. Both A and B
D. None of the above

Im not so sure about these, but here goes:
1. A
2. B

10. D

Here are the answers
