I dont understand this?

For youtube.com, I want to upload this video I made. I filmed it will my digital camera and added titles and credits with Windows Movie Maker. But when I try to upload it, it end up saying "Invalid File Format Error". I tried to figure it out and it said...

What does "Invalid file format error" mean?
It means that the file type of your video isn't supported by the site. YouTube does not currently accept videos in Flash (.flv) or RealAudio (.rm) format. You may need to try using software other than the software that came with your camera, such as Windows MovieMaker (included with every Windows installation), or Apple iMovie. Using these programs, you can easily edit your videos, add soundtracks, and change the file type, etc. Saving your video file as .avi, .mpg or .mov should enable you to upload your video with no problems. The video is only a minute long.

How do I figure out the file format of my video? How do I change it to be allowed to be on youtube.com?

First open the file in Windows Movie Maker software.

Once the file is opened in Windows Movie Maker, look at the top white window in Windows Movie Maker for your file under the "name" column.

Right click the file and choose "add to timeline"

Click the "File" menu at the top left of Windows Movie Maker

Choose "Save Movie File"

A dialog box will pop up.

Choose "My Computer (Save your movie for playback on your computer)"

Click "next" at the bottom right corner of the dialog box.

Name the file and choose the place to save the file.

Click "next" at the bottom right corner of the dialog box.

Click "next" again

Once Windows Movie Maker is done saving, the file will be in the same place you chose to save it.

The file is now in ".WMV" format which is compatible with Youtube.

If your movie is called Movie, this is the format (look where you saved the file):

Movie.[format] For example, Movie.mov

simple, go to the physical drive settings of the file, and rerun the file into the format you want by zipping it then deleting the original file then extracting it and it will ask you what type of file you want it to be.
