I have a new laptop (Compaq Presario ) and I'm supposed to make a set of recovery discs ....
(A) Is it best for me to make them AFTER I put all my software on .i.e for my digital camera ...my Printer ....etc...or Before ?
(B) How do I actually go about adding all these software programs ...I'm a bit nervous ...I'm a novice to computors ...I don;t want to screw anything up
(C) Is it best to make recovery discs on CDS Or DVDs ? ..and what TYPE should I use ? RW ? or the other type?
Thanks for your help. Make the discs as soon as possible using blank DVD media. Most computers support both DVD+R and DVD-R media, but make sure you buy good quality discs as these are going to be your permanent recovery discs from now on. This is a trend that most, if not all, PC manufacturers are sadly going to save money on pressing recovery discs.
Here is a link on HP's website that explains how to create a set of Recovery Discs....

Keep in mind that Recovery Discs will only recover the recovery partition on your computer. I have an HP DV1000 and is exactly the same way, which is very inefficient. |
