My old camera is a Hitachi VM-E635LA which uses the old 8MM tapes.
I do a weekly "Gear Review" video for the Internet and would like to upgrade as the batteries on the cam are loosing a charge fast and the recording heads are getting fuzzy.
I have tried the Sony Handycam mini DV and although the photo quality is great, it is hard to use with the computer. You have to use the software that came with it to transfer the video to the desktop computer for editing and I could not get it to work with my editing software, (Adobe Premiere).
I am not sure they make good 8mm cams anymore of if I want a digital over that.
I'm lost at what I should get. I'm not even sure what I should set up for a budget for a new camera.
I have good lighting and software for editing. I just need a good quality, clear, easy to use camera for my videos.
Any help would be great, thanks.
If you need any other info just post and I'll add in the details, thanks "go down to the camera store and ask a specialist about what ur after and prices and they can match u to the right one. goodluck"
Thanks, yea my brother gets a discount at best buy so if there's one i like that they have at bust buy ill try to get it there.
i guess i have to try some out and talk to a few of the guys who sell these cameras all day... I have a JVC Everio with the Hard Drives and they work great. Not HD but the files are Mpg2 and can be dragged into Premiere or any Movie creator software. When It makes a DVD, BAM! no transcoding and it only takes less than an hour (for the menus , flyby animation, and any other fancy stuff you put in the menus) A Sony HDD cam go down to the camera store and ask a specialist about what ur after and prices and they can match u to the right one. goodluck Try cheapest prices search engine they have all of the stores and online merchants, and they have great reviews.
