Help with Vista? |
I just got a new computer that came with vista, only thing is is that none of my software is compatible. My digital camera and media player are becoming useless!! I have tried to call the computer company, microsoft, and the companies associated with the devices, no one has been able to help. I have been all over the websites looking for a download to help and have come up empty handed. Any ideas??? Well....You can install the software and run it in compatability MODE.To do this nstall the software then look for the desktop icon right click it the hit proporties. After this look for compatability the run it in compatability for Windows XP sp2. get a new printer that is accessable with your camera. I had so many customers with same problem, cameras, printers, scanners, blackberrys. Wait. There aren't many drivers available for Vista yet. If you read up on it, you will see this mentioned often. You could wipe the hard drive and install Windows XP or buy new stuff that is already supported in Vista. Alternately you could learn to program in C and write the drivers yourself. That might take a while, though. Windows Vista includes Windows Media Player 11. Have you checked your camera manufacturer's website for Vista drivers? Also, does your new computer have slots for media cards (your camera has one)? They can read your camera's pictures directly from it's media card. Most new computers have them. I purchased a Dell E520 with Vista 2 months ago,i also purchased a Brothers all in one printed,I called Brothers support 800 number and they were very helpful. They help me get to there web site and helped me download the drive i needed for there printer that works with Vista.Maybe try the products web sites. |
