How can i make a picture brighter?

i have this one picture, thats dark.
and i would like to make it brighter.
but i dont have any software like from a digital camera or something..
does anyone know how?

Go to www.google.com and type in picasa. You can download it for free and it is photo editing software. Once you have downloaded it, find a selection that says "tuning" and it has three bars and you can tinker with the options and make your picture brighter or darker. I use it all the time.
