I have a Sony HandyCam Digital 8 video camera with a USB. I want to transfer the video to my hard drive so I can play with it. My problem is the software it came with doesn't help me. I'm looking for a good program to capture the video and edit it. Any good ones? don't use usb, you will lose frames that way, not fast enough. If your pc does not have a firewire card you can buy one on ebay for under $20. Get an old copy of Nero, it has one of the best dvd writing programs, and not bad for editing either. Not the new version, get version 6. First you need a IE1399 wire to hook up your camcorder to your computer' USB Port. The IE1399 could be bought at any computer/electronic store. Yet you are going to need software to edit the video. Use either Roxio or Pinnacle. Both are good. With the software, you could download your video onto your computer screen and into your hard drive's video files.
