How do I find windows installer.?

I am trying to load some software for a digital camera onto my PC - Windows ME. I keep getting a fatal error 1603??? The message on the screen refers to "windows installer" and I haven't got a clue. Someone please help before I trash my PC!

this sounds like system files problems to me have you been doing basic house keeping on your system. By this I mean for example do defrag or file system checks etc. Or system file check ie to make sure that have not been corrupted. I would still consider doing an anti virus check as well. Seeing as you are on the Internet are you running a descent firewall.

I am not sure as whether I believe that I am right or not but under normal circumstances you shouldn't be getting these kinds of problem.
