Is there any software that you can use to extract text from..?

..a jpg file? I want to save newspaper articles on my pc and i only have a digital camera.I've tried acrobat which doesn't work.
You see if i could just save as text it would save lots of space!

No you can't. No program has an ability to read a picture...

You'll be needing some OCR (optical character recognition) software.

Either that or reduce the picture down to two colours (black and white) and save as a GIF.

One thing you can try is to download openoffice from www.openoffice.org. It's free. Open a word processing document, insert your image, go to file, save as pdf. It will convert the image to a pdf document.

You could download to MS Digital Image and crop the text all by itself.

there is a program that reads scaned pages from articles books etc. i can't remember the name but i can get it for u! mabye tomorow! send me mesages trough yahoo answers! i'll give u the name or mabie the program itself!

Have you thought of looking to see if the newspapers have 'on-line' versions of the articles that you could copy?
