I have one of the DV 182 digital video cameras and once I hook it up to my computer the LCD screen on my camera is blue and just says PC Camera. I've already downloaded the software that came with the camera, but I cant seem to view or download my photos onto the computor. Open up My Computer on your computer, then plug the camera in. A new listing should pop up in the Devices With Removable Storage category. Click on it. Browse through the various folders that appear and look for files with typical video extensions (.MPG, .M4V, .MP4, .MOV, etc.). Copy or Cut them from the camera, and Paste them where you want to be able to find them. Even if there's an issue with the software (I don't have that particular camera, so I have no idea what to expect), this workaround should make it possible for you to recover your video files. Go into the menu and look for a usb setting. It sounds to me like you have it set to a web-cam feature when connected to a computer. I know that some manufacturers give you the option to either use the camera as a web-cam or to download the pictures.
Change the setting, and it should work. |
