Software to change high resolution pictures?

My digital camera is set to a very high resolution, I have my pics downloaded onto my computer but it takes forever to downlaod these onto an email if I want to send them to someone and they take up loads of space on the computer. Does anone know if there is any FREE software that I can use to lower the resolution so it does not take me 10 years to downlaod them onto an email....! Thanks

yes there is..it is a wonderful program called Picasa made by Google. It is also a picture organizer and has a great backup program in it.. When you send pictures you can have it resize to a certain size usually 1024x768 which is what i do.. I also use though my Gmail with it.. Try it out i like it especially with a gmail account

If you have XP then Windows Picture Viewer can do that, or you can download Google Picasa and it will do the same thing. Just decrease the size of the pictures and it should massively decrease the size, usually for the web its 800 x 600.

there is a software called image resizer released by MICROSOFT specifically for resizing images ..its extremely easy 2 use..u can resize images just by right clicking them...it has a very small download [ only 521 kb].. and best of all...its totally free....trust me..its a very good fast small efficent application ..
