What can a palm pilot do? |
I'm going to be doing a lot of LIGHT traveling... would a palm pilot be good for internet access? what about charging an ipod? is there enough space for a digital camera's software? can you access basic websites? How long can it go before it needs to be recharged? Does it take batteries, or do you plug it in? thanks a lot I love my treo. It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. You can have internet access, navigation, camera, camcorder, calendar, hotsync, memo, task, document, world clock, versamail, realplayer, and much more. Plus it's a phone. it has a calculator and a calendar. nothin I can't speak for the official brand, "Palm Pilot", but I have an HP iPaq 2215 with extended battery I take traveling. I bought the superhumongous extended battery, and I got a 56kb modem for dialup internet access. The battery stamina is at least a week. The charger box (excluding the 6-foot cord) is about 6 inches by about an inch by about an inch-and-a-half. The software is a full set of Office-equivalents; it's got no camera, but it has a smart-card slot so you could copy over camera photos (we have) and view them on the iPaq. I also use mine as a TV remote... You can use ActiveSync to synchronize files (including Outlook stuff) with your PC. The iPaq itself (with superbattery) measures about an inch-and-a-quarter thick by about three inches wide by a little over four-and-a-half inches long. Travel sized, que no? If your ISP has world-wide dialup numbers, you're all set. it is a computer I could not live without my Palm Pilot! I use the Garmin iQue 3600 (this unit has GPS and gives turn by turn directions) |
