What is a really good video making software for the computer?

I want to make a video with a digital camera. I don't have any video software on my laptop. What is a very good video software I can download?

Very good, Adobe premiere Pro the top of the programs but cost a lot too. For home use if you have windows XP or Vista movie maker from Microsoft is a very good one.
