Computer Is Crazy, How To System Restore Without Logging On?

I installed some digital camera software onto my computer but halfway my computer crashed and restarted because of a virus it has, but id learned to live what that, but then when i tried starting it, the computer would crash again and restart, and it keeps on crashing and restarting, sometimes just after i turn it on sometimes about a minute after i log in, it never used to crash this frequently. And for some reason when i try going to uninstall programmes or to try and get to system restore it wont open and then just crashes, so is there anyway anybody knows how to get to system restore without logging on, or some way that you can attempt to fix the computer. All i think i need to do is just get rid of the proggramme that it was installing and it should be fixed. please any help appreciated.

Ive tried that but it still crashes, whats this system repair? whats it do and how do you get to it?

If Safe Mode doesn't work, then you may have to get into the systems BIOS to fix the issue if possible.

How long have you had this problem? Does the computer seem to work better when you first turn it on after it sits for awhile? You may have a hardware problem. An over heating CPU or Hard Drive can sometimes cause this depending on what type of system you have. I would open the side of the computer, turn it on and make sure the fan over your processor is working. Most motherboards will either shut down or restart your computer if it gets too hot.

I hope this helps. You can post anything you find out in this question and I'm sure one of us will be able to help you out.

EDIT: Ok..try to unplug all your USB cords if you have any as well as your internet and sound. Just leave your keyboard, mouse, monitor, and power cord plugged in. See if that helps at all. Sometimes conflicts will cause problems similar to what your describing.

If that doesn't help, go ahead and plug everything back in. Do you have your original Windows XP disc? If so, put it in the CD ROM and start the computer and choose to boot from the disc.(It should prompt you) You might want to try to re-install windows. Your computers default should load the floppy first, disc drive: second, and hard drives third. As long as you don't reformat, you shouldn't loose your information on the comp.

Do you know how long you have had the virus, and what are its characteristics.... i.e. leaving readme.eml messages or something like that. I hope we can get ya fixed up!

you can try "boot to last know good configuration" at the startup menu.
you can't get system restore unless you logon.
otherwise you have to do a XP system repair.

start computer and press F8 before startup logo screen.
It will display different options
use safe mode
when windows will start after some time
it will ask to restore system to earlier system restore point
choose yes
and restore it to your desired date
then restart normally
you can also remove programme you just installed before getting this problem by simply going to start--->Control Panel--->Add/Remove Programs and removing that particular program
If it was device then remove drivers of that device from specified location that is start and selecting scanner and cameras or for that matter printer and faxes etc.
Hope it will solve your problem
If problem persists then i fear you have to reinstall windows or get patch or update to fix that problem from microsoft
