My computer no longer recognizes my digital camera?

My camera was working fine then one day it didn't recognize it. Got a new cord and still doesn't work. Bought a card reader thinking I will just download my pictures that way. Downloaded the driver for my windows 98 as it said on the reader and it doesn't recognize that either. My computer isn't recognizing drivers. Saying they are not installed when I can see them on my computer in the add/remove software in control panel. HELP!!

First of all disconnect your camera,Remove the software program through control panel add remove program-after removing it-restart your computer.When the system reload,Install the software through control panel by clicking the first Tab add program-and thereafter connect your web cam.After installing your software -Test your camera. Window 98 o/s has no problem if your software are compatible with o/s.Even if you have problem,click control panel-click performance-click system-click hardware-click device- if your camera is highlighted with a Yellow mark-click and upgrade the driver.Even if you failed to do so- click the USB tab and let window search for the connection device from the software.You need to upgrade your USB port.

if you are going to use windows, i suggest upgrading to at least windows 2000. most of your problems will go away. also, if you are actually using a computer that is that old, i would suggest getting a new one.

Windows 98 or 2000 are going to give you problems sooner or later. I had both and finally got rid of it and installed Windows XP.

UNINSTALL AND RE INSTALL THE PROGRAM

When I had this problem, I had to delete my camera software and reinstall it. Hope this works for you.

try to delete it on add/remove programs and then reinstall it
