How do i get my computer to recognise my digital camera?

i have instaled the software i have tried plugging it into any of the 3 ports still nothing.. the camera works on another computer i dont know if something is set wrong

if devices driver get installed correctly and are shown in Hardware properties Panel ( can't rembeber exactly, long time not using windows :D )

then is likely you PC BIOS doesn't have the USB ports enabled, if that's the case, juts are better asking for service in your local computer store.

Sicne you don't mention what camera it is, or what Windows version are you using , and what's the error message, then we are only guessing a solution.

need bit more info - does your computer recognise other usb devices

try checking them - if not then you usb ports may have a faulty driver etc

add additional once you have tried this

u should know the u must not change the port , install the software , setup , restart ur pc , then plug the camera , keep the cd driver in the cd rom

I hope you are using USB port. The reasons are many

If you os is old, it may not support USB. WinXP, Win98SE supports USB

Your driver may not be installed properly..

The final solution is Re-install your computer and do from the scratch

most of the digital camera are connecting the pc through usb port, are you sure the usb port driver has been installed if you are not using Windows XP?

first, make sure your usb drivers are up to date. this can usually be done by visiting the website of your motherboard manufacturer.

if the cables are all hooked up properly, also make sure that you have a fresh set of batteries in the camera, or the ac adapter is attached if yours came with one.

also, are you using windows xp? if so it has built in digital camera wizards. also your camera should have come with software, make sure that software is installed properly.

also on some cameras it may be necessary to go to an option in a menu to 'connect to pc' however this is not very common.

HAVE YOU WENT TO YOUR CONTROL PANEL OR PROGRAMS THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED???

May be your USB version is not compatible with the digital camera. Usually it happend on USB 1.1. If that the reason just replace your USB with the latest version, then reinstall the software.
