How do i download pictures from my digital camera to my computer?!?!?

Okay, my camera is Sony Cybershot DSC-W55.
My computer is a Windows98. I'm trying to download the Aplplication software but it keeps saying Needs a different Windows system...like a windows2000 or WindowsXP
How do I download pictures without the application software???
Plz tell me the answer ASAP!!!!

No guys you dont understand (the ones who have answered already) i hve a Windows98. I already now how to upload and stuff but i cant do that because my computer is OLD! How do you download pictures without having your computer updated???

The easiest way to transfer your photos from the Memory Stick to the computer is to go out and buy a Memory Stick Duo Card Reader (or multi card reader). You then need to insert your Memory Stick into the Reader and then plug it into your computer's USB port (providing that you have one of, course).

U have to have a special cord that usually comes with your camra

is there a memory diskette in ur camera put it in the puter that is how.or you might need a disc

there should be a cord that came with the camera to connect it from there to your PC. if you lost it, i would recommend buying another one (you can try ebay. there seems to be everything there).

ohhh......well i waas going to telll you to get a USB port. But I guesss you already have one. Do you have fast internet,or a fast computer.

Plug the usb cord from your cam into the socket then go to
Start > My computer
And it should say the cam make under the bit saying devices with removable storage. Search around my computer if not.

go start then click my computer it should pick up your camera as a removeable disk dubble click and then click on upload files....should work....after the files load copy and paste them into the folder on your computer that you want.

since windows 98 is obsolete. I doubt you can.New cameras have to have compatible operating systems.If you dont want to upgrade then i dont know how you can do it. I have windows Vista and i cant use my printer/copier because its not compatible. Also many of the games we had.I think you may have to go like microsoft and see if there is a driver download. Or call a computer store and ask them.

Take the memory card out and put it into the memory card slot. If not connect your camera to the usb cable look for the end of the cable that matches the end of the cable of the usb and the usb cable to the computer, just look for the slot in the computer that matches the end of the cable, if the program for the camera has not been previously installed, then install it, after installing it connect the camera to the computer as I told you beofre and the photos should pop up on the computer. If a new windows doen't pop up, go to my computer and look for something that looks like something from the camera, open the folder and the pictures will be there.
If you have any more questions, ask a sales rep in the store where you bought the cam.

should able to download even window98.
take your memory card out and connect USB.
it should work, otherwise go to sony website and download program which can work in window 98.

Sounds like you may need to upgrade your operating system.

Go online to Sony and download the drivers for windows 98 for that camera. 3. when you plug in the camera, then it should show up as a drive letter on your computer (check my computer to see your new device)
Then you should be able to retrieve the pics.

Also try a google search.
