Im about to get a digital camera, i want to know if a sd menory card is required.?

Also can you tell me if this is a good camera. Oh yeah is there any software i would have to get to be able to use a usb cord with it.

That's kind of a crazy camera. They all come with a memory card; some are SD and some are XD and some are whatever. The camera has to come with software and a USB cable so you can upload all the pictures that you take onto your computer.

If you have the money, you should get a camera with 6x or 10x optical zoom plus 3x or 4x digital zoom. Even a 3x optical zoom would be nice -- $250-$100 respectively.

That a SD memory card is not included is a ripoff. Usually at least a small one (16MV) is included, and people go out and buy a bigger (128, 256, 512MB) memory card. You can buy quality memory cards at crucial.com. It's from Micron memory chip maker, and they have a very good reputation and great prices due to it being a factory direct online website.

On the left side of the page, there is a list with Mini SD and Micro SD (Secure Digital). You have to check what type card your camera takes. Crucial may be able to tell you. The price of their cards are at least half of what other people sell cards for because its factory direct.

Below the camera, Radio Shack has the SD cards that the camera requires. They are on sale for half price, too. Also, read the customer reviews on the camera.

One more tip, my camera really goes through a lot of batteries because it is an electronic device and because I use it a lot. After a couple of months, I got rechareable batteries for it.

For that camera you do need an sd card because they usually come with just a small one. But don't worry they are pretty cheap.Also the camera comes with it's own software so you can download the pics onto your computer but don't worry if you don't want the software on your computer you don't need it.If i was you i would buy a more know brand.
