I am installing my Digital camera,a problem?

I installed the software,plug in the camera in the usb port and then nothing happens,A fast red light started to flash so i looked in the manuel and it said it will flash "when connecting camera to PC before driver is installed. Please install driver". What do I do? how do I check to see if my USB ports are working? My computer doesnt reconize the camera HELP!!!! I am new to this computer thing help please.

I am using xp and my camera is a Philips 3.0 MegaPixels. There is nothing saying anything when I plug the camera in.The manual say that all buttons are inactive during usb mode thank for answering!

Uninstall the drivers either by finding them in the Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs or by using the Device Manager. Reboot the computer, reinstall the drivers, reboot again, then plug in the camera. If the camera is not automatically installed, open device manager and right click the computer name and select 'Scan for hardware changes'. If it is still not recognized, open the Control Panel and select 'Add New Hardware'. Click Next to go through the wizard and let it scan your system to see if the camera is recognized. If it comes to the point where it asks where to look for the drivers, select the disk from which the drivers were installed and select the corresponding system files.

Its not in Ports. Look for Universal Serial Port. How old is your computer? Anyway, do you have any other device that connects via the USB port. Try connecting that device and see.


Dont look for USB it may be Universal Serial Bus also. It cannot be possible that its not there. Look properly.

Which camera do you have ? What is the Operating system you are using.

Your USB ports are working.They rarely spoil .

Now see, by just connecting the camera it doesnt synchronise.

In my Canon A520 we have to lower the slider from the shot mode to the review mode to be able to synchronise with the comp.So tyr something similar with yours too.

Also do you get any notification in the tray that a device has been connected. This only comes in Win XP.

first restart your computer,tell ur digicam nmae

Go to System, device manager, scroll down to USB hub and see if your camera is registering there. If not uninstall software, turn antivrus software off, including spy-ware stoppers, disable widows XP firewall if you run XP; and then re-install software after having disconnecting digital camera from usb cable. Then if it doesn't work try it all over again until it does:) Welcome to Windows!
