What is the best digital camera for $300?

Going to Vegas in August and want to be prepared with a nice digital camera. Perhaps one with a flip out screen when in video mode. What do you guys recommend?

And also...are there any cameras that come packaged with some cool picture editing software that you can put on your computer?

Canon makes the best comsumer camera in my opinion. They have really great imagine quality for their size. I would recommond them. Here are a few choices:

For still photo's I'd get a canon powershot... But for just a littlebit more you can get a very decent digital videocamera that you can also use to make still photo's so if you're not that much into photography and want to use it for video anyway....

This is much better than just getting people to tell which cameras THEY like.

Most digital camera include software, although you would be better off with Adobe Photoshop Elements or with the full version of Photoshop.
