I purchased a DXG 202V and was promised 2 have thw driver from the company by June. Hasn't happen. I bought this camera because it was a combination video camera and digital camera. I am looking 2 get something like that without paying a lot of money ( that's why I got the DXG). Yes, I am frugal.(Cheap) Maybe less than $100(if possible) and is compatable with Vista. And I was also told that the computer can recognize some camera withe out the software or drivers being install by their brand is that true? fhotoace, the person who answered your question before me, should change their handle, they are no photo-ace.
Yes your operating system does matter, that's why your camera company was going to send you a driver, to make your camera Vista compatible; currently a lot of printers, cameras, software and hardware is not Vista compatible. It is up to the manufacturers to come up with patches, fixes and drivers to become Vista compatible. Vista is expected to become the dominant operating system in the world and while many manufacturers will do what's necessary to make pre-Vista stuff compatible, other manufacturers will not, so you have to buy their product new again.
I did a google search and found drivers listed for your camera, click on this link > http://google.com < and type DXG 202V driver vista < into the search bar, your answer is there where hopefully you can say cheese and smile. (note: many driver downloads are free, frugal). Number one. Your operating system has nothing to do with being able to copy your video to your computer. That is done using some kind of software which has to be able to work in Mac OS X or any Windows XP and Vista.
With compact digital cameras, there is no reason to have drivers. You simply move the images on your cameras memory card to your computer ... drag and drop.
Video is more complicated. You have to have a software program that recognizes your camera. I have a Sony notebook that will not see either my Canon or JVC mini-DV camera. Yikes you cannot believe how upset that made me. I had to do all my editing on my desktop because I didn't have a Sony camcorder. |
