Transferring photos from camera to computer when travelling...? |
I'm going travelling soon and would like to upload photos from my camera for a website (flickr) for friends & family to see. I was hoping to do this in internet cafes. The problem I have is I don't know how to get them out of my camera - if I use the cable I normally use at home that would require the software to be downloaded on each computer every time which I don't think will be possible. Are there any other options? I don't have an I-Pod or an MP3 player. Thanks. I can't take a laptop with me on this trip so it's not an option. Also if you could recommend the best way to transfer the photos (is there a flash drive I could use instead of carrying the cable with me... the more space I can save the better?) Thanks... the camera is Panasonic Lumix. PowerUp USB 2.0 Multi Card Reader w/Thumbdrive (SD&MMC) You should be able to just use Microsoft explorer to get the pictures off of the camera. When you attach the camera it should come up as another drive. Depending on the camera and the operating system you may need to download the drivers. But don鈥檛 worry; you can put those on computers as needed. Get a card reader that you can plug into the USB slot. It will open just like any other external drive, no software needed. I'll be returning home from a 10 month round the world trip tomorrow and I've updated my website with several hundred pictures along the way, so I have some experience. |
