Transfer photos from Kodak Digital Camera to Computer?

I have a Kodak Easyshare G610 Digital camera, which connects to the printing dock, which connects to the computer via USB. I have installed the Kodak Easyshare Software.
When I click 'transfer' on the printing dock, no option to transfer them to my computer comes up - it just prompts me to print them. When I connect the USB to my computer, it doesn't seem to recognise the camera as it does not alert me than a device has been connected like it usually does.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, can someone help please?

It's not possible to connect directly from the camera to computer with this make, it must go via the printing dock.

I can use my printer dock to print things and to charge the camera, it's just transferring to the computer I'm having problems with.

I had this same issue with my kodak easyshare Z712. I uninstalled it. Reinstalled without the printer dock. Then I hooked up the USB cable and turned on the camera. Bingo, pictures stated downloading! I then hooked up the printer dock and it took me to the printing screen for the pictures I just downloaded. I have not had this issue since and can now just use my printer dock. Good luck.

just connect directly from the camera to the copmuter

Kodak Easy Share is a misnomer.
Buy a card reader and use that.
