My laptop usb port is not working properly?

i have lenovo laptop with window vista operating system.some of the usb device like pen drive and cyber shot camera is not working.when i plug this device message comes,"found new hardware,install driver software" but some usb device is working properly.please help me.

You will need a chipset driver that works under Vista. Check the makers web site to see if they have one.

It could be burned out. I have 4 usb slots on my laptop and one is fried. The fried one works but it's not connecting very well.

Look real close at the connectors, that port may have gave out.

You can try getting a usb hub but they aren't very good. I'm having trouble finding a good one. Here are two that I;ve tried that do not work:

irocks usb hub can only read a 512 flash drive, nothing higher, or anything else.

belkin usb hub from JandR, can't power anything. The moment I plug in a flash drive the led turn red.

There's a targus one i'm thinking of getting. Make sure you can return it if it doesn't work. Please note that transfer rate might get slower cause it's going through one port on the laptop.

those might not be able to run on vista i was pissed cause my xbox controller will only work on xp try checking their website see if they hav drivers for vista
