actually came with a 550 power supply ( great deals at ibuypower, this costed me 965$!!!)

for the most part it it could be ok, except for the graphics card. you could get the 7950gt 512mb for around $150 and it will totally kill that 8500 10 times over. an 8800 or ATI 3870HD would be best tho cuz of DX10 support.

as for crysis; it will be very slow with the 8500. You would have to play it on low quality settings just to run it. I have Crysis and it runs good but not best on xp with my athalon x2 6400+, 4gig ram and 7950gt oc & DX9. I cant even play it on vista 64 without directX10. That is why you and I should both get a 8800 or the Ati HD 3870 x2.

It's okayish... Should of gone with a quad core and if you stayed with the 8500 GT graphics card it would still be around the $900 mark.

Ibuypower? Ick. As a rule of thumb (at least to hardcore geeks, like myself) is to never buy from some gypsy vendor like ibuypower or cyberpowerpc.

I would build my system from scratch, it will save you money, and you know what parts are going in.

I would always go Intel, AMD is about a year behind them, and Intel has the new .45NM Mobos.

Geforce 8800GT 512, AT LEAST.

Never buy any other brand of HD, besides Western Digital, I've never had a problem with them.

I hope this has helped. =]

I also agree about the video card, it is weak for gaming. You could build the same computer for half the cost that Ibuypower is selling it to you for, maybe a few small adjustments like case and other stuff that maybe only Ibuypower sells. There is no real purpose to have a CD drive in a gaming computer, the DVD-rw yes but not another drive unless you plan on copying a lot of movies, CD's, or whatever directly over.
I would also recommend a power supply of at least 600W or greater, nothing to huge, no need for overkill. Also World of Warcraft is not a demanding game compared to Crysis and I will tell you right now, that computer will not run Crysis that great. Maybe on low settings it will but nothing to high.

Sorry to bust your bubble but I think it is best you know this before committing to buying that computer. I just spent $2,300 building my own gaming computer and can not run Crysis on the highest settings, I am close but I still get video lag from time to time.
One other thing, Vista will actually play Crysis real good if you have a good computer, I tried Xp and Vista Ultimate x64 on my new computer and Crysis plays more smoothly on Vista. Guess that DX10 everyone says was crap is pretty good after all.
Buy a barebones kit and work from there, These kits usually can come with everything you need to get started except for a really good video card. I just built another computer for a buddy by doing this and maybe spent a total of $900 and was able to get the 8800GT plus 4Gb of RAM and a Intel Q6600 quad core. Just letting you know that there are better and cheaper ways of getting a computer instead of going through some companies that charge an outrageous price for a low end system. Try something like this and then upgrade the video card. Be a lot better than the computer you listed above for gaming and would run circles around the one listed above as well. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...

Nvidia=SLI for 2 cards or more and ATI=Crossfire for 2 cards. Just thought I would clear that up.

Yes, that computer should run games fine, even very large games such as World of Warcraft.

Not a bad computer at all!

Hope this helps, good luck!

No, that's terrible. The 8500 is extremely weak for gaming, as it's a multimedia card, it's not really meant for games at all.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy from ibuypower/cyberpower, they're not reliable and often have terrible service.

The nVidia 8500 GT is not a high-end gaming graphics card. It is, at best, entry-level and is meant for casual gamers. Also, a single PCI-E slot limits upgradability to Crossfire. The chipset is also slightly outdated.
If you're not a serious gamer, this PC is okay. Make sure you get a good monitor to go with it.

I see 3 problems with this being a gaming computer that will last for more then 1 1/2 years or so before needing an upgrade. The first is that it has 4gb of ram. Windows xp cannot use more then 3.5gb of ram. Second, you would benefit from have 2 1gb (or 2gb if you really wanted to keep with 4gb total) ram sticks in dual channel then the 4 sticks using up all of the slots. Last time I checked a motherboard couldn't run 2 sets of sticks in dual channel, it had to be either run 2 sticks in dual channel or run all 4 sticks at once. Third problem is that the 8500gt card is a crap video card. A older 7600 from nvidia could/would stomp that video card in a stress test. You would have been better off with a 8800 series card, or a 7950 series card from nvidia.
