How can I find someone in my area willing to model for me so I can gain photography experience? |
I am from southwest Louisiana and looking for people willing to allow me to practice photographing them. I have a very nice digital camera, but am looking to learn more about poses and how to use my camera to create nice portraits. Would prefer someone that has a little modeling experience and is willing to work cheap. lol How can I go about finding someone? Thanks. You can advertise but make sure the person you use is of age and understands the kind of modeling you expect, you are asking a question that you know the answer to. You can get people to pose for you just out on the street for experience. People are hams, naturally and you could use friends and family or ask people on the streets in parks. If you are not looking for a certain type ??? If so, you will spend the money and have a contract and do the thing right or you may end up in trouble. lol put an an in the paper, ask around, tell friends and get them to pose for free, recruit family members, put up a sign at the library and the grocery store. I just started a photography studio and ask friends and their children to be my practice models. You could try people at your job or even your neighbors. Most people jump at the chance to have a free picture of themselves or their family. God bless- Go to your nearest college and put up a flier. I would advertise that you will trade their service for a free portfolio. Professional pictures also cost money, so i imagine their would be plenty of people willing to do this. Ask people, put ads in the paper. Maybe try looking for people that are interested in being models that need to put together a portfolio that way you both can get something out of it. The model gets their portfolio and you get your practice. Also try posting some flyers around different college campus' saying that your looking for models in need of a portfolio and then hopefully you guys can work together. |
