Any recommendations for an easy to use, quality, digital photo album program? |
My parents recently started taking an interest in digital photography and asked my recommendation for a photo album program with basic features: crop, re size, fix red-eye, etc. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements, and it may be just a little too much for them at this point. The program that came with their camera is terrible. What are your recommendations for a simple, but quality, program that my parents can use to effectively manage their photos? best one is Google's Picasa from here http://www.sleekbytes.com/picasa-google.... you download it to your computer and then you won't need to be on the internet. Also get them to download both these two: The Gimp is good and the best for pure editing on the free. http://www.gimp.org Second I'd put Irfanview, also free http://www.irfanview.com I recommend Picasa. It's a really simple and user-friendly program, not to mention free. It will do all of the the things you mentioned and I'm sure your parents will have no problems using it. http://picasa.google.com/ Edit: It is a standalone program. You don't need the internet to use it after you've downloaded it. If you don't have a Mac, the best photo album utility is probably Picasa. It's a free download (link in sources) from google. There's also Adobe Photoshop Album, which I don't really know much about other than it can sync with the iPhone from Windows. http://picasa.google.com/ if you don't want picasa, try ulead. |
