Professional Photography & Lap Top Computers? |
I am a student taking Digital Photography and would greatly appreciate some advice. For Me...I find Mac's not as user friendly as PC's. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers...I know there supposed to be better and all...but switching from one to the other gets a bit annoying for me. This is not my question. Keeping in mind that I prefer PC's...what should I be looking for in a new laptop? I like the idea of being able to check your images on-site to ensure you've got what you need. Burning the images to DVD is also a bonus to free up my memory cards but, I also need enough memory to do the odd Photoshop retouch as needed. I know Photoshop uses allot of memory. Well...what do you think? I'm all ears--so to speak. If your going to buy a laptop with those requirements, I would look for a laptop with a screen 15.4" - 17", 1GB (1024MB) or RAM, you don't need too fast of a processor, 120-160GB hard drive that's RAID configurable (meaning you have two drives that write the same thing to both drives, in case one fails you have a backup), and an 8x DVD burner that does all formats. Oh, and if you can, get Windows XP. I know Vista may be tempting, but I have a friend who works for Geek Squad and he says he gets more people in there daily with Vista problems than the number of OS's they sell. Well I run a website selling laptops. For your the best price the most memory and the biggest herdriv and videocard I would go with this laptop. http://www.shopping.com/xpf-sharp-actius... |
