Best outdoor photography manual? |
Can anyone recommend a manual / book that would benefit a novice outdoor photographer? My husband loves outdoor photography (particulalry animals, sport, and landscapes) and would like to turn his hobby into a career in the future. He prefers digital photography, so a manual which also incorporates digital elements and/or Photoshop would be great. Also, this will be a birthday gift, and if you have any gift suggestions within the realm of outdoor photography (that won't cost a fortune), I'd love to hear them! Thank you. A book I particularly liked is 'National Geographic Photography Field Guide: Secrets to Making Great Pictures'. It is written by two professional photographers who work for the National Geographic and it is full of useful tips and advice, good also for novices. You can find it in Amazon.com Source(s): http://www.travelphotos4u.com/photo-tips... I can't think of any specific books, but I used to always pick up a copy of Outdoor Photography magazine. A one year subscription might be a nice gift. Oh, and other gifts to consider...how about a tripod? A nice lightweight one. Or even a monopod. It could also be used as a walking stick on rough trails. Hey, I thought of another gift for an outdoor photog. How about a Domke jacket or vest? They're the khaki jackets with all the pockets, great for trekking about with photo equipment. Or even a Domke bag. They're very sturdy and roomy. |
