What is a good digital camera to bring on a wildlife photography trip?

I don't need anything too great and expensive, i'm just looking for something to give me decent photos.

If you are shooting wildlife, you might need a good zoom lens (that means expensive).

Which one is best for you? Try the consumer reports site. One allows you to read for free, the other charges a small subsctription fee. Compared to the price of a camera, a small subscription fee is cheap.

Keep in mind that the only real way to compare cameras is to go to the store and pick one up. Only you can decide what camera feels right in your hand, and which one has the best looking picture (best looking to you). After reading the articles to get an idea of which cameras might be worth trying, head to Best Buy. I heard that JVC or Cannon is fairly good (Fuiji Film gets mixed results, depending on which one of my friends that I ask).

I own a Cannon Powershot A530. It works for me (kind of cheap; fair zoom - but no telephoto lens). Source(s): http://www.savvyconsumer.org/?g0/consume...

Try a KODAK - good prices at CompUSA !!!
I'll take Canon Powershot S2 IS. Not expensive, long zoom for the wild creature, good color and features.
I presume you would want to be able to zoom in close so a SLR might be a good place to start as they allow you to change lenses. Second, you would want some sort of Anti-Shake mechanism. Third, rugged and handy. I will choose the Konica Maxxum 5D. Great Anti-shake even on play back on the TV.
