Digital Edits and photography classes#@$@#? |
i'm 17 looking into a college that teaches web site design and something that would teach me how to make pictures like these.. either take them or edit them dosen't matter.. http://g8.no/images/20070704100755_punch... and http://artfiles.art.com/images/-/john-ra... i would like to make pictures like those witch class would i take? if you took photography let me know what you learned in college. and if it was worth the money I took photography all right ... at Brooks Institute of Photography. If you truly want to learn straight forward fashion like the Vogue shot, then taking a full course of photography at your local community college will be a good start, followed by working for about 5 years as a photo assistant with a photographer who shoots the kind of work you love. For the highly technical shot like the "Punch" shot, you are going to really have to spend the money and attend a school like Art Center, Brooks or RIT to even get the basics (technically). Design wise, you will start developing your own style after you have successfully pushed a few miles of 35mm film through your Nikon or Canon professional level camera. I say that because even after attending Brooks over 20 years ago, I still take classes at my local community college for fresh ideas and input from both the instructors and students. My style has changed over the years, but one of the most influential photographers in my visual growth is Pete Turner. http://www.peteturner.com If you don't want to go to school and want to learn by failure add another 15 to 20 years to achieve the level of photographic skills necessary to shoot these kinds of images day in and day out with consistency.
