How do I make a digital movie and put it on dvd. I know very little about digital photography .? |
I have access to a sony handycam and a dvd writer and would like to make a 5 minute movie and transfer it to dvd. Do I need software to convert to a different file format etc etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a helpful guide: http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/t... you need to use something like adobe premier Try Nero 7 Premium software. http://www.nero.com/eng/index.html... Firstly you have to download the video from the camera to the computer using suitable software. You will probably need a 'firewire' card in your computer, and a firewire connecting cable. This is a fast type of serial interface. If you don't have a firewire connector on your computer, you should be able to fit a firewire card into your computer fairly easily if it is a desktop machine. The software I use is Adobe Premiere Elements, which is very good. With this software, you can edit the original video - you can cut out bits and move them around on the 'time-line' ie the film that you are making. When you are happy with it, the software lets you convert it into DVD format and burn it to disc. This can take time, but not too long if you film is only 5 minutes long. Remember that video uses a lot of hard disk space - you will need a fast disk (7200 rpm) with maybe 20 GByte of space on it, for the download and editing. why not plug into a dv connection on a dvd recorder and cut out the computer. can be far more simple. You will have to be able to input your video from camcorder into your computer. The two most common interfaces for this are USB and firewire. However, firewire has become more accepted as the standard for digital video applications. To install a firewire card to your computer, you will have to open the casing, but is a fairly simple procedure. Next you will have to edit the video, using digital video editing software. This will allow you to delete parts you don not wish, add titles, naration, transitions, sound effects and soundtracks. Then you will have to burn the edited digital video to DVD. There is a lot of user-friendly software on the market available to take you through all of the steps mentioned above. Pinnacle and Adobe Premiere are both common software used for these tasks, but they do require a reasonably powerful computer. Pinnacle is very easy to use. Good Luck :-) |
