A career in Photography?

What are the main areas of professional photography? I have just thought about a career in photography so could any of you kind people impart your wisdom? I really enjoy photography at the hobby level and I would say that I have an eye for a good shot. I have no qualifications in photography.

Any comments you want to make.

Do you have time in the evenings to take up a Photography course? You probably have a lot of knowledge already, but more is always useful! A day course is even better if you can accommodate it.

Also, the people that run photography courses can guide you as to who can help you on the next level of your career. They are usually run at the local college, so take advantage of the careers advisers there.

If you take up the advice on the website, you could also demonstrate your skills and display your photographs on it, but do make sure you retain copyright, and get paid for any images people download of your work. I'm not sure how you do this, but sort it out before setting up the site.

Good luck.

Just an idea for you. I do not know if you have a Website as of yet but if you dont have one, get a free website and free hosting. Take your time, put it together and display some of your best photos. Then share your website with many people and friends, etc. The main thing is get the exposure. While you are getting things set up dont spend any unnecessary funds. Go to www.websitebargainstore.com and click on the Free Website menu button. The site also has a "help you" builder to help you through the creative process. Many people are doing this for all kinds of business fields. Good luck with your photography!!
