Is the olympus sp 570 uz camera a good dslr for wildlife photography?

Yes. All these SLR like superzooms cameras are very good.
It should work well for almost all types of photography. The only thing you lack by not having a SLR is shutter speed. All point a shoots have a lag time between when you press the button and when the picture is actually taken. Although I have used this camera and it has a mode for action. Also the lag time is very small because of the use of buffers.

I think you will find it a very good and usefull camera.

Maybe ... first of all the SP 570 is NOT a DSLR. It is a SLR-like camera and is basically a sophisticated P&S camera and thus suffers from shutter lag, so shooting wildlife can be problematic ... and of course you cannot change lenses.

Perhaps the biggest problem with that camera is that its sensor is about 15 times smaller than most real DSLR's
