How are my photos? What type of photography should I be going into?

I'm an EXTREME beginner, and after looking through some real photos, I can even tell. But for a beginner, how would you rate my photos? (And what type on photography should I be going into?)

OMG SO SORRY I forgot the link!

Sorry...they're all dull snapshots of random objects around your house. Your folder is even titled "Random Again" and that's exactly what they are...random. There doesn't seem to be any purpose or intention to any of your pictures.

I liked the picture of the flower on the first page, and you do have some interesting low angles, but that's about it. They might be good as stock pictures for advertising. But who else is going to find a snapshot of bananas or a button on pants interesting? There are times where pictures of unusual objects can be interesting, but not if ALL your pictures are just snapshots of mundane objects in your house. You need to learn about what makes an interesting photograph, how to create a picture that will hold the viewer's attention. What you need to do is really look at your pictures, and think to yourself what your intention is, what kind of picture are you trying to create and what message do you want to send?

The people who are telling you to "just get Photoshop and edit your pictures more" are giving you the completely WRONG advice and in the long run they're not helping you any. Photoshop isn't going to help a bad picture, and there is a lot more to photography than just "fixing" bad pictures on a computer. You need to work on your composition skills and how to see and imagine what makes an interesting picture. A computer can't do that for you.

Don't give up. Just put more thought into your pictures. Really take the time to think about what kind of picture you want to create instead of just aiming the camera and pressing the button.

EDIT: If you want to take pictures of objects, there is one kind of photography called a "Still Life" (actually it comes from art originally). This is where you arrange objects in a static scene, BUT it has to be done with some kind of intention. You can use common objects, but you need to have a clear purpose for why you're doing it and what kind of picture you want to create. Someone should be able to look at the picture and interpret a message that you were trying to send.

I'm sorry, I realize how mean I sounded. You do need to work on composition and taking more interesting pictures, but I should have I said it better. I just didn't think you were going to listen to any criticism seriously, since most people here don't. Don't give up. Report Abuse

I like the one of the fence the best!

You should get a better camera - get a Nikon D40. Great DSLR camera that's easy to use and makes some amazing pictures. Also, see if you can get Photoshop and learn to fix up the pictures in different ways. I like the variety of subjects.

They are good, we all start somewhere right. Read some photography books, try different things with your pictures, and practice and your pictures will improve!!

well they are pretty ok.
they look to me that they will fit in the conceptual category...
and also they are made with the macro mode so look for stuff around these two categories.

hope i could help! (:

They are probably really quite good, if they are like your avatar picture.

after looking at your pics... you should go into some sort of commercial
photography... advertising... ect......

they are very good.

i would love to rate them but you have not given me a link?
