How Can I Find Out What The Top 10 Universites Are To Study Photography In The UK?

Everyone knows that Oxford and Cambridge are the best accademic universities in England but how can I get a shorttlist together of the best universities in creative arts? By best I mean their results are in the top 10 of the league tables or the name alone is recognised as one of the best places to study. I'd really appreciate your help because it's talking to others that is going to give me this info rather than Google.

I can't really recommend you any Universities, as I haven't been. I'm off to Uni next year, and like you I want to study Photography! I can only tell you the Universities that I have been looking at and they are:
- Southampton Solent University
- Kingston University
- Roehampton University (Photography is offered as a combined honours only here)
- Northampton University
- Hertfordshire University
- Middlesex University
- University of East London

I'm still looking around for different Universities that offer Photography courses.

I found this on The Guardian's website but it's no help to me..
http://browse.guardian.co.uk/education?S...

Colleges and universities offer many different courses within your desired discipline. Only by studying their prospectuses can you know where their specialisms lie.The town or city also has a lot to do with your choice,as the cost of living in,for example London can be very high, despite the obvious advantages of a London College. What is an obvious best choice for one person may not suit another.Photographic courses extend beyond the Creative Arts,it all depends what you want to achieve within the medium. Some courses may include Film, whereas others may have an emphasis towards Fashion,or Natural History.Explore as many courses as you can through their web sites and narrow your list to places as well as courses.

It's going to be really hard to find league tables which show the top10 uni's for Photography courses. However, I am aware of some universities that are known to do exceptionally well in the creative arts sector- these are:

*Kingston University
*University of the Arts London- 1.London College of Communication
2.Camberwell College of Art
3.Chelsea College of Art
4.Wimbledon College of Art
5.London College of Fashion
*Westminister University
*University of the creative Arts (there is one in Epsom, and this is a fairly new university)

You will probable find that BOURNEMOUTH has the best media (including photography) in the UK

Go on the times good university guide online.
