What would be a fair compensation to ask for a job a camera store?

I am considering applying for a PT job at a camera store/photo lab. I haven't worked in several years to stay home with family, and my previous experience was in a professional position. I am an amateur photographer with good Photoshop editing skills. I would be looking to work about 15 hours/week. What would be a fair compensation to ask for? Thanks!

Yes, I should have mentioned that ... I'm in Texas. Since I've been out of work for some time, I really don't have any idea on starting pay. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Most retail photolab/camera store jobs probably have a set starting wage, unless you applying to be a manager. In my lab, you would begin very near minimum wage. Photolab jobs, especially, are in a depressed state now. Hope you're able to find what you're seeking.

This varies greatly with your cost of living for your area. If you're in California, you would get paid more than someone living in Ohio. You really should find out what the starting pay is for the position you want and go from there.

A friend of mine is a student and works for a local camera store. He mentioned he got a raise to $12.00 an hour after being there a year. No mention of the starting pay.

If you have good Photoshop skills, and the equipment why not set up your own website and try freelancing image editing.

Doesn't matter if you were out of work. You have the skills? Then, they should pay you accordingly because you don't need training of any sort.
