How do the best landscape photographers make money? |
What are the best ways for one to become a landscape photographer and not be worried about living on the streets? How can they make money? It is my dream to become a landscape photographer after I graduate from A&M soon. How would I go about making the most possible money? I ask this because I do plan on having a family, and of course I want to be able to provide for them. Thanks! I agree with the first answer, it's a hard question with no real easy answer. Photograhy is a hard industry to get into and expect to start yeilding real income from. The best photographers really know how to sell themselves and have superb networking skills, yet it is hard to step into it making good money. According to Ken Rockwell, the average photographer makes, on average $24,000 a year. Most other photographers have day jobs doing something else to support things like living expenses and family. I would recommend finding a job that will pay the bills while you hone your craft. Afterall, landscape photography isn't an instant thing, more like selling paintings. It would be different if you decided to become a wedding photographer because at least you know the industry has demand.
