Portrait/Photo school fundraiser Ideas?

I am an armature photographer. I have taken sports team photos (action and formal), some family portraits, and done a handful of weddings. A youth sports team asked if I had any ideas for a fundraiser that would utilize photography during a tournament. I do not have equipment to print photos on site so orders would have to be taken and photos shipped/delivered to the customers. I am fluent with photoshop. I do have a DSLR, Speedlight 430ex flash, and a lap top. I have about two months to prepare. Any ideas (and details to pull it all off) would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I am just thinking, what if you took your laptop and downloaded the pics asap. Give the 'customer' a number that corresponds with the pic on the laptop and then tell them to come back within a certain amount of time. That way you could have some time to edit them and then give them a few to choose from for ordering.

If you will have Internet access, set up an online account at some place like WalMart. Then send the pics to them. They will only take an hour to develop. Maybe you could have some one pick them up for you and bring them to you at the event.

I've seen this type of arrangement at softball or baseball tournaments. Take the pictures Saturday, print 4x6's overnight and sell them Sunday, plus take orders for larger sizes or more prints. Potentially a lot of investment though.

I like the idea about being able to show them on the laptop and have people place orders (and most definitely pay!) that day. It may be a lot of work for you to ship, so you would need to price in envelopes, postage, etc, in the price of the pictures.

If you could take all the pictures Saturday, maybe have an assistant in a tent on the way out of the event, so everyone sees the pictures, you could take orders for the next day delivery, saving postage, etc. Make sure the event organizer schedules teams both days if you do this, though.

Good luck!

I don't know if you could
