Does anyone know of any professional quality photo processors that will process small jobs?

The photographer who took my wedding pictures 8 months ago is retiring and she has given me the negatives and photo disk. At the time the pictures were developed I was out of work and didn't have the money to spend on a lot of pictures so I only bought the bare minimum. Now that I have the negatives (and a really good job) I'm looking to get copies of all of the pictures plus several enlargements for family members.
These are my wedding pictures so I'm looking for good quality and a decent price.

To be completely honest with you, as long as you have the negatives and a release showing that you have permission from the original photographer, any consumer lab can do a good quality job. Most of them will even reprint (or at least not charge you) shots that you don't like how they came out. The lab won't have any control over anything other than color and (to some degree) exposure of the final print (color being the most likely for them to not print correctly)...pose is pose and it's already captured in the negatives you have.

Some labs won't handle medium format negatives (are they?), but if they're 35mm you won't have a problem there. But ones like Wolf Camera and Ritz Camera usually do (or at least send them out for prints).

If you are needing something beyond that (special instructions for cropping or something you want dodged or burned, etc)...then I'd suggest checking with a local photographer and see if they would offer to do that for you.

I am located in Alabama, if you're interested, I can card and submit to my lab. Drop me a note if you are...but like I said, you can probably get it handled at a more reasonable cost through a commercial lab. Source(s): I am a professional photographer.
The place I use is called TPI Photo (www.tpiphoto.com). They print from both digital negatives and film negatives.

They've always provided great work no matter how many prints I've sent. Which has ranged from 3 - 300 images at times.

The turnaround time has always impressed me. Most weddings I send arrive back at my door in under a week.

No professional would ever suggest a consumer based print-on-site location such as Walmart, Walgreens, etc as you won't get the best prints available. Places like that won't color correct for one thing (which is the biggest thing you need to look out for) and use el-cheapo paper usually (don't be fooled by the brand of the paper).
